# Removed Staking Options

Staking for some networks will soon be removed from Nova Wallet. Here is what that means for your stake.

We're making Nova Wallet cleaner and more focused. As part of that, staking for the following networks will be removed from the Staking tab on 25 October 2026:

* **Still running:** Aleph Zero, Avail, Vara, Polkadex and Ternoa
* **No longer running:** Moonbeam, Moonriver, Zeitgeist and Manta Atlantic

What you need to do depends on which group your network is in.

### Why are we doing this?

Each network's staking needs its own infrastructure and ongoing development. We'd rather put that effort into the networks most of you use and make them better. Some of the networks above are also no longer running.

### Aleph Zero: check your validator

Alongside this change, the Nova validator on Aleph Zero will be switched off on 25 October 2026.

* **If you stake directly with the Nova validator** (shown as "Novasama Technologies/Gagarin" in the validator list), change to another validator. On Aleph Zero each nominator has one validator, so if you stay with ours you will stop earning rewards once it is switched off. You can change it in the Staking tab: see [Manage Aleph Zero validators](https://docs.novawallet.io/nova-wallet-wiki/staking/aleph-zero-azero-staking/aleph-zero-direct-staking/manage-aleph-zero-validators).
* **If you stake in the Nova Wallet pool**, you don't need to do anything. The pool will move to another validator before ours is switched off.
* **If you stake with another validator or pool**, nothing changes for you.

### Vara: check your validator(s)

The Nova validator on Vara (shown as "Novasama / Tesla") will be switched off as well. Vara lets you nominate several validators, so your stake stays with the others on your list. You only need to pick a new one if it is your only validator.

### What happens to my stake on Aleph Zero, Avail, Vara, Polkadex and Ternoa?

Your tokens are safe. Removing a network from the Staking tab doesn't touch anything on-chain:

* Your staked tokens stay staked and keep earning rewards as long as your validators are active.
* Your balance, including locked tokens, is still shown in the Assets tab.
* You can manage your stake, unstake or claim rewards from the network's own staking app, without leaving Nova Wallet.
* Until staking is removed, you can still unstake directly in the Staking tab. Unstaking takes from several days to several weeks, depending on the network. If staking is removed before your tokens are released, you can withdraw them in the network's staking app.

### How to keep staking with Nova Wallet

You can open each app below in the Nova Wallet browser:

1. Open the Browser tab in Nova Wallet.
2. Search for the app by name, or enter its address from the table.
3. Connect your Nova Wallet account when the app asks.
4. Stake, unstake or claim rewards. Nova Wallet will ask you to confirm each transaction.

### Moonbeam, Moonriver, Zeitgeist and Manta Atlantic

These networks are no longer active on Polkadot or Kusama. Staking actions, including unstaking, can no longer be completed in Nova Wallet, and we can't offer an alternative way to stake them.

If you have tokens staked on any of these networks, please contact the project's team directly for help with your stake:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.novawallet.io/nova-wallet-wiki/staking/removed-staking-options.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
