# How to Unstake your PDEX

You must wait \~28 days AFTER completing the unstaking transaction before you can redeem your PDEX tokens. This period is set by the Polkadex protocol itself and is not something set by Nova Wallet.

PDEX which is undergoing the unstaking process does NOT earn any staking rewards.

When you stake tokens on Polkadex you agree to having your tokens "locked" in staking for 28 days.

When you wish to unstake your tokens, you must wait for the entire duration of the Unstaking/Unboding Period to expire before you can redeem your tokens.

### Step 1: Unstaking Process

1. Open the Nova Wallet application.
2. `Select` the **Staking** **screen**.
3. `Select` your staking position, in this case, would be **Polkadex** **PDEX**.
4. From the **Polkadex** **staking** **screen** `select` **Unstake**.
5. `Input` the amount of PDEX tokens that you wish to unstake and then `select` **Continue**.
6. Review all the contextual information including any associated fees and `select` **Confirm**.

**You have now started the 28-day unstaking process. You must wait 28 days before you can redeem your PDEX tokens.**

**You are able to cancel the unstaking process at any time from the Polkadex staking screen.**

### Step 2: Redemption Process

1. Open the Nova Wallet application.
2. `Select` the **Staking** **screen**.
3. `Select` your staking position, in this case, would be **Polkadex** **PDEX**.
4. From the **Polkadex** **staking** **screen** `select` **Redeem**.
5. Review all of the contextual information including any associated fees and `select` **Confirm**.

You will now receive the amount of PDEX that you previously chose to unstake.
