How to connect your Ledger account to Nova Wallet on iOS or Android

How to connect Ledger Nano X, Stax, or Flex via Bluetooth

Before you connect your Ledger to Nova Wallet, please check the following:

1. Make sure that you have the latest version of Nova Wallet installed on your phone.

2. Ensure that the latest firmware is installed on your Ledger device. If not, please update it as described in this Ledger guide: https://support.ledger.com/article/360013349800-zd.

3. Close any other apps that can connect to Ledger, like Ledger Live or wallet apps.

4. If your phone runs on Android 11 or earlier, check in your system Settings if Nova Wallet is allowed to access your location.

5. Enable Bluetooth on your phone in your system settings.

6. Enable Bluetooth on your Ledger device. On Ledger Nano X, hold both buttons to access the Control Center and navigate to Bluetooth using the right button. If needed, press both buttons to enable it, then close Control Center. On Ledger Stax or Flex, tap the Settings icon, tap on the right arrow, and select Bluetooth. If needed, tap to enable it, then close Settings.

The following steps include actions you must perform on both your Ledger device and your Nova Wallet Device.

Actions for each device are clearly labelled below.

1. Open the Nova Wallet application and Select Already have a wallet (Nova Wallet Device).

2. Select Hardware wallet and then Select Ledger (Generic Polkadot app). (Nova Wallet Device).

3. Read the on-screen prompt and Select Continue (Nova Wallet Device).

4. If requested, allow Nova Wallet access to finding nearby devices and enabling Bluetooth. On Android 11 or earlier, please also allow access to your location. Nova Wallet doesn't use your location information, but this permission is required for any app to be able to access Bluetooth devices (Nova Wallet Device).

5. Turn on and unlock your Ledger device (Ledger Device).

6. Start the Polkadot application (Ledger Device).

7. Once your Ledger display states Polkadot Ready (Ledger Device), select your Ledger device on your Nova Wallet device.

8. If you're connecting your Ledger to your phone for the first time, both in Nova Wallet and on your Ledger device screen, you will see a pairing code. Compare the codes and make sure they match on both devices.

9. Select Pair in Nova Wallet.

10. Confirm pairing on your Ledger device.

11. Select your account from the list on your Nova Wallet device. (Note: if you cannot see your balance or account, try pressing Load more accounts.)

12. Select Continue (Nova Wallet Device).

13. Read the on-screen prompts and review & approve the operations appearing on your Ledger device. The addresses appearing on your Ledger must match the one shown in Nova Wallet.

14. Input a nickname for your account (Nova Wallet Device).
